Where to begin…
I spent the early part of Christmas Eve checking on NORAD and wondering when Santa was making a stop. I did tweet a few times but then the doorbell rang I forgot all about Santa when I saw Sadie’s festive outfit. I wished I had thought to dress up.
Even the back of her Santa suit looked real nice.
We played around for a few hours and then she had to go. Pretty soon Mr. C and Mrs. S left and the house got real quiet. I went online checked on Santa’s route. It looked like a long time before a Minnesota stop since he just passed over Moscow. I checked the table to make sure Mrs. S didn’t forget to put out cookies and milk for Santa. They were still there. I didn’t want to miss him so I decided to wait under the table. I thought when he came down the chimney I’d be able to see him for sure or when he came to the table for his cookies and milk. But I got so tired from all the excitement of the day I fell fast asleep.
I was having some good dreams when the sound of jingle bells woke me up. I quickly moved out from under the table just in time to see a bit of red disappear up the chimney. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I spied this bag with a tag that said TO BELLA
and an orthopedic memory foam bed. Gosh, Santa must have gotten my list. When Mr. C and Mrs. S returned home this is where they found me. You can see I really LOVE, LOVE my new bed. It’s quite comfy. Even though I didn’t get a camouflage back pack this bag is just as good. It’s large enough to hold all my stuff and perfect for my trip.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and I hope Santa was good to you.

I’ve been so busy tracking Santa’s route
that I almost missed an early present in my stocking.
I’m off to a great start today. I’ m in the countdown waiting for Santa to make a Minnesota stop at my house. Hope time goes by fast.
In case you’re counting this is really my third snow treasure of the season. First came my big victory catching a squirrel followed finding a deer leg bone. Much of my walk time is spent investigating, sniffing and digging near the road and into the woods. This skull may be my biggest find ever.
I did have to wrestle this monstrous piece a bit as it was frozen to the ground. I wasn’t sure how to hold something so large in my mouth. When my jaw finally clenched the skull I was not about to give it up to Mrs. S no matter how many times I heard “Bella, Drop it! Drop it!” .
But when Mrs. S’s friend who was walking with us offered me not one but two milkbones I had a weak moment. I did not fight her too hard for the skull. Besides my jaw was beginning to hurt from carrying it so long. In the end Mrs. S carried it home to show Mr.C who was most impressed with my find.
It’s been cold lately. I’m lucky to have grown a nice thick fur coat to keep me warm for these kinds of days. But today I received some unexpected news. I won’t be needing a thick fur coat after all. I’m going on a road trip and heading out west again to AZ in just nine more days. I know its warmer there. At first with the news I was a bit worried about Christmas and missing Santa. But Mrs. S assured me he’ll find me on his Minnesota stop. I keep checking on my stocking that has been hung but so far nothing.
I’ve been working hard at being good. I requested only TWO gifts on my list this year. If you remember they were a camouflage backpack and an orthopedic foam memory bed just like the ones Sadie has.
I’ve been a big help to Mrs. S lately with her holiday baking keeping the floor clean of crumbs. She doesn’t even need to sweep afterwards. And I’ve kept Mr.C company through all those boring football games he watches all the time. But sometimes I shut my eyes when I know it’s the last couple seconds of the game in case his favorite team loses and he yells. And Mr. C and Mrs. S always tell me what a good car rider I am.
Mrs. S has been busy packing. She even remembered my favorite Texas outfit. So now I know it’s all true.

I’m in good shape for the holidays. My stocking is hung and list has been mailed to Santa. Now all I have to do is wait and count down the days.
Meet Deb, my BFF. She always remembers me at Christmas and doesn’t mind riding with me in the backseat of the van.
Check out the size of this raw hide bone. And it wasn’t even on my list. It’s any doggie’s dream come true.
My challenge- where to begin on gnawing a 2 ft. bone. I kept a firm hold on it in case Mr. C or Mrs. S wanted it back.
I examined it from every angle to see where to start.
After what seemed like a very long time I was worn out battling this monster. I needed a break and a nap.
Mr. C says he’s going to help me out today. He’s cutting it into smaller pieces.
P.S. Thanks to my BFF for my early Xmas present.
Hey, it’s a winter wonderland and I get a snow day at the lake!
Here’s an action shot Mrs. S was able to get. My ears were flapping in the wind. I was in hot pursuit of a squirrel.
Mr. C and Mrs. S slogged through the wet and heavy snow to the mailbox. But not me. I have 4 Paw Drive. I just bounded through the snow keeping busy exploring, sniffing and digging. It all paid off. I scored big. And I was off running with my snow treasure. Of course Mrs. S was none too pleased yelling at me “Drop it!” “Drop it.” I paid no attention to her. I was on to her trades. I was not parting with this snow treasure even for a very large piece of turkey she was waving in front of me. But Mrs. S persistence wore me down chasing me around the house and garage. It was past my dinner time and gosh the turkey was beginning to look good. Finally I dropped it much to Mrs. S’s satisfaction. I really can’t understand why she gets so excited over things I find. I thought this deer leg was the perfect snack to gnaw on.
